MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Rockingham

This level is named for the earliest ware made in East Liverpool. Potters found abundant yellow clay and coated it with a glaze called Rockingham. This gave a glossy mottled-brown look to the ware. Rockingham members donate $100 and enjoy free admission to the museum, notices for events and classes, newsletter, 10% off in the Clay Shop (gift shop), name on website (if desired), and 2 tickets to the April Members’ gala.


Parian

Parian is a biscuit ware made to resemble Parian marble, the fine white marble that come from the Greek Island of Paros. It was made in East Liverpool by William Bloor between 1860 and 1861. Parian members donate $250 and enjoy free admission to the museum, discounts and notices for events and classes, newsletter, 10% off in the Clay Shop (gift shop), name on website (if desired), and 2 tickets to the April Members’ gala. Other benefits are being pursued and may include discounts from local businesses.  .

Lotus Ware

The pièce de résistance! Lotus Ware…the lovely bone china produced by Knowles, Taylor, and Knowles for a few years in the 1890s! MoC has a collection of over 200 pieces of this art pottery. In this Lotus Ware level of giving, $1000, members enjoy free admission to the museum, discounts and notices for events and classes, newsletter, 20% off in the Clay Shop (gift shop), name on website (if desired) and 4 tickets to the April members gala.  Eligible for “Spotlight” feature on web site.  The member may have free use of the building for one event, to be held outside of Museum operating hours. Other benefits may be added such as discounts from local businesses.

Majolica

Majolica ware has a beautiful brightly colored glaze. George Morley, potter and one time mayor of East Liverpool, is known for majolica, especially notable is his gurgling fish jug. Majolica members donate $500 and enjoy free admission to the museum, discounts and notices for events and classes, newsletter, 20% off in the Clay Shop (gift shop), name on website (if desired) and 4 tickets to the April members’ gala.  Other benefits may be added such as discounts from local businesses.


OHC

Ohio History Connection, formerly the Ohio Historical Society, is a statewide history organization with the mission to spark discovery of Ohio’s stories. Another way to contribute… Volunteer!

Another valuable way to contribute is to volunteer! Volunteers are especially needed for the Clay Shop (the gift shop). Depending on interest, volunteers may chose to give tours, do archival work, serve as hosts during events or work with collections. All volunteers work under the guidance of trained staff.
