This is a five day day-camp, July 15 to July 19, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for kids ages 10 - 14. It is going to be awesome! Here are some of the things we have planned:
Artist Barrie Archer will teach throwing (potters wheel) and hand-building classes each day. Student will get to make and keep their projects.
Museum Director Susan Weaver will take the kids behind the scenes of the Museum for some local history.
Homer Laughlin China will give a special tour that ends with a plate decorating class. The plates will be fired for the campers to keep.
A tour of Pottery American Mug and Stein will have some special treats for the kids as well
Campers will learn door knob tossing and compete in a tournament at the end of the week.
A ghost walk in Riverview Cemetery won’t be scary but will be lots of fun as the campers locate the ghost of famous potters.
Lunch is provided by the Hot Dog Shoppe and there will be daily snacks.
Other fun surprises are being planned for these inaugural clay camp attendees!
Those who complete the camp will receive a Clay Camp t-shirt
Cost for the camp is $150 and includes all activities, supplies, lunch, and t-shirt. Registration is required and the camp is limited to 10 campers so call soon! 330-386-6001 during open hours
