THIS MONTH'S BOOKS:  MY FATHER'S DAUGHTER (formerly FATHER' ARCANE DAUGHTER) and THE MIXED-UP FILES OF MRS. BASIL E. FRANKWEILER

Two young adult books by E. L. Konigsburg!  Konigsburg won the coveted Newbury Award for From the Mixed-up Files.  It features runaways Claudia and Jamie who are living in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY.  The Museum purchases an angel statue for the bargain price of $225. The statue is possibly an early work of the Renaissance master, Michelangelo.  The children are determined to find out and this leads them to Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.

My Father’s Daughter (Father’s Arcane Daughter) is about the sudden return of Caroline who was kidnapped as a teen. Is she really the daughter of this wealthy Pittsburgh family?
